PENNY EVERINGHAM 
 

Penny's extensive career (50 Years) includes many performances with Queensland Theatre Company, including  Once in a Royal David's City, Pygmalion, The Crucible, The Importance of Being Ernest, Julius Caesar, John Gabriel Borkman, After the Ball,  Oedipus the King, The Venetian Twins, Phedra,  The Tragedy of King Richard III (collaboration with The Bell Shakespeare Company),  The Tragedy of King Richard II, XPO – The Human Factor and  The Blood and Thunder on Hurricane Peak.
 

She toured with Force Majeure in the acclaimed production,  The Age I'm In, and for La Boite Theatre, she has appeared in  The White Earth and the Queensland tour of  Walking by Apple Tree Creek. She toured Creative Regions with  It All Begins with Love for two years, from 2014 - 2015. Penny is also a puppeteer and was the Assistant Artistic Director of the Marionette Theatre of Australia. She was a member of the Australia Council puppetry panel, where she devised and co-ordinated a training programme for that organisation. For the Queensland Marionette Theatre Co., she has worked as a head puppeteer, director, puppet maker and artistic adviser. She has made puppets for film and TV and runs many puppetry and drama workshops in schools, universities and community groups. She has also performed for QPAC, Melbourne Theatre Company, New Theatre, Tivoli, Gyre and Debacle. Penny directed  Grimm Tales (USQ) and has written and performed puppetry for Queensland Marionette.

Her film and television credits include  Hoges, Crocodile Dundee in LA,  The Wilde Girls, Ring of Endless Light, The Real Macaw, Sunny Boy, Nim's Islan, and Heartbeat episodes, Jeopardy II, Kids, Medivac, Blithe Spirit and the Young Composer series.
 

Penny was a member of the Board of QTC for eight years and is currently on the Board of Metro Arts. She is a committee member of the Actor's Benevolent Fund and a founding member of the Forgetting of Wisdom collective (a group of working senior actors.) In 2007 she was given the ABF Lifetime Achievement Award. She is a member of the MEAA.
